The ‘Blade Angels’ are redefining the image of US women’s figure skating

The trio of U.S. women targeting Olympic figure skating gold Tuesday night are not the dainty ice princesses of yesteryear. Three very different women with three very different personalities.

Forget everything you thought you knew about figure skating—welcome to the era of the BLADE ANGELS! These three phenomenal women are NOT your grandma's ice princesses. Amber Glenn, Alysa Liu, and Isabeau Levito are shattering stereotypes and bringing the heat to the Milan Cortina Games! Glenn, the 26-year-old powerhouse and LGBTQ+ activist, is OUTSPOKEN and UNAPOLOGETIC. She’s tackled her demons, emerged as a fierce advocate, and is here to show that athletes can and SHOULD speak up about what matters!

Then we have Alysa Liu, who’s the embodiment of resilience! This one-time phenom walked away from the sport at 16 only to return and snag her FIRST world title for an American woman in nearly TWO DECADES! Her punk-rock spirit and multiple hair colors are a testament to her individuality and a slap in the face to the bland image of the past. Liu's journey of self-discovery is a reminder that sometimes stepping away is the key to coming back STRONGER!

And let’s not forget Isabeau Levito, the sarcastic sweetheart who blends innocence with a razor-sharp wit! She’s got the charm of Tara Lipinski, but trust me, there’s a fire in her that’s hard to ignore! These ladies are not only competing for medals but also setting the stage for a NEW generation of female athletes who refuse to conform!

This is about more than just Olympic glory; it’s about TRANSFORMATION and making a statement on the world stage! The pressure is ON, but if anyone can turn this Olympics around for the U.S. figure skating team, it’s the BLADE ANGELS! Watch out, world, these girls are here to stay!
