About Us

ImChatty helps adults reach the language level they need for an exam, a visa, citizenship or a move abroad. It focuses on speaking, the part of the test most people find hardest to prepare for on their own.

You can check your level for free, practise speaking every day with an AI conversation partner, and book a native tutor when you want someone to prepare you for the real thing.

We started with English and French, where most of our tutors are. You can also practise Italian, Russian and Chinese.

Many people learn a language because they need to, and by a certain date. That might be a TCF Canada score for Express Entry, B2 French for naturalisation, B1 Italian for citizenship, or an IELTS band for a university place.

You can study grammar and vocabulary on your own. The speaking part is harder. You can't rehearse a conversation without someone to talk to, and paying a tutor for every hour of practice gets expensive quickly.

We built ImChatty so you can do most of that practice for free with AI, and spend your tutor time on what a person does best: telling you where you stand, fixing the habits that will cost you points, and getting you used to speaking under exam pressure.

ImChatty is for adults who have a reason to improve their speaking, often with a deadline:

• Moving to Canada. French TCF Canada or TEF Canada scores can add points to an Express Entry profile.
• Becoming French. B2 French is now required for naturalisation.
• Becoming Italian. B1 Italian is required for citizenship by marriage or residence.
• Getting a French diploma. DELF and DALF for study, work or your own goals.
• Studying or working in English. IELTS and TOEFL iBT speaking.

It is also for people with no exam to take who simply want to speak with more confidence before a trip, a job or a move.

Our mission is to help people reach the level they need, by the date they need it, without spending more than they have to.

That means being honest about where you are today, giving you as much speaking practice as you want for free, and making expert help easy to find and fairly priced when you need it.

1. Find out where you stand. Our free CEFR level check takes a few minutes and tells you roughly where you are on the A1 to C2 scale that most exams use. For TCF and TEF Canada, there is a practice test built around the NCLC levels Express Entry uses.

2. Practise speaking every day. Talk with an AI conversation partner about real-life situations at your level. It corrects you and explains your mistakes as you go, at any time of day. When native speakers who are learning your language are online, you can practise with them for free too.

3. Prepare with a tutor. Book a native tutor for live video lessons in your browser. Each lesson has a clear goal, your tutor gets AI suggestions while you talk, and you get a short recap afterwards. Many tutors offer a free first lesson.

Every tutor is reviewed by our team before they can be booked. Tutors show a real photo, pass a written test, and complete an AI conversation assessment in the language they teach.

Payments go through Stripe, and your card is charged only 24 hours before a lesson. You can cancel for free up to 24 hours ahead.

ImChatty is not an official exam centre and is not affiliated with France Éducation International, CCI Paris Île-de-France, IELTS, ETS or any other exam body. Our level check and practice tests give you an estimate, not an official score. Book your real exam through an approved test centre.

ImChatty is for adults (18+). Our community guidelines and moderation tools are there so everyone can practise in a respectful space.

We're adding more exam-specific speaking practice and making it easier to find tutors who prepare students for the exam you're taking.
