How is this different from iTalki?
iTalki community tutors keep 85% (15% fee); imchatty tutors keep 80% of what's left after payment processing fees (Stripe's fee comes off first, then the 80/20 split applies). The difference is that imchatty's AI certification makes your expertise verifiable before a learner ever books — so you compete on proven quality, not price. iTalki tutors differentiate via star ratings and pricing; we give you a credential.
What is the certification?
Two gates: pass the CEFR placement test at C2 in your target language, then complete one AI-scored certification scenario, also scored at C2. An AI model evaluates the scenario on vocabulary, grammar, and natural flow. Once you clear both, your profile moves into review automatically, and the ImChatty team gives it a quick final check before your certified badge goes live.
How do I get paid?
Payments are live. Once you're certified, set up Stripe or PayPal under Payouts in your tutor settings and confirm your details. That turns on booking for your profile, and your share of each completed session is paid out automatically.
Which languages are in demand?
Demand depends on what learners are working toward, so it shifts over time. Right now, for example, we have strong demand for French tutors familiar with TCF or TEF who can help learners prepare for those exams. You can apply to teach any of our 12 supported languages, and your tutor dashboard shows how many learners practiced your language on imchatty in the last 30 days.

No formal teaching certificate is required. What matters is proving your level: pass the CEFR placement test and the AI certification scenario (both at C2) and your profile goes live after a final review. Many of our tutors are native or highly fluent speakers without a teaching degree — the certification is what proves your ability to learners, not a diploma.
