How is this different from iTalki?
iTalki community tutors keep 85% (15% fee); imchatty tutors keep 80% of what's left after payment processing fees (Stripe's fee comes off first, then the 80/20 split applies). The difference is that imchatty's AI certification makes your expertise verifiable before a learner ever books — so you compete on proven quality, not price. iTalki tutors differentiate via star ratings and pricing; we give you a credential.
What is the certification?
Two gates: pass the CEFR placement test at C2 in your target language, then complete one AI-scored certification scenario, also scored at C2. An AI model evaluates the scenario on vocabulary, grammar, and natural flow. Once you clear both, your profile moves into review automatically, and the ImChatty team gives it a quick final check before your certified badge goes live.
When does payment start?
Payment infrastructure is in active development. Early certified partners will be coordinated manually until the booking and payment flow launches. You'll be kept informed every step of the way. Your profile is public and visible to learners as soon as you certify.
Which languages can I teach?
English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, and Hindi. More languages are being added — contact us if yours isn't listed.
Do I need a teaching certificate to apply?
No formal teaching certificate is required. What matters is proving your level: pass the CEFR placement test and the AI certification scenario (both at C2) and your profile goes live after a final review. Many of our tutors are native or highly fluent speakers without a teaching degree — the certification is what proves your ability to learners, not a diploma.
